A stunning and elegant armchair designed in the early 60s by Grete Jalk, the most prolific female designer of her time, for France and Son, one of the most renowned Danish furniture makers of the era. The perfect combination, resulting in a remarkable piece of furniture. This lounge armchair features beautifully sculpted blades-like arms, original spring cushions, and slatted back. The frame is built in solid teak with a rich grain and beautiful patina throughout. With sensuously curved arms and tapered legs, the backs comprised of beautiful ergonomically shaped teak supports. The original upholstery is in olive green wool fabric. A combination of striking design with luxurious materials at the time. France & Son metal badge is present. This chair is in superb vintage condition. It was recently professionally repolished and shows only very minor signs of wear and original fabric showing minor discoloration but absolutely nothing that detracts from the beauty or value of this future antique piece. Structurally it is as solid and sound as it was in the 60s.
