Beautiful long oak sideboard produced by E Gomme G Plan in the 1960. This rare design/finish sideboard was one of the first models of modern and elegant dining room furniture produced by E Gomme after the huge success of they tola/ebonised Librenza range during the 50s/early 60s. The design was extremely bold for the time and t’s now becoming very sought after due to its classic Minimalist Mid Century look. Minimal lines with simple handles and the exquisite oak finish would have made this piece very different from the dominant teak productions of the era.
Superb craftsmanship! Again, the outstanding attention to the details definitely sets this piece apart from many of its contemporaries. The result is an incredibly well constructed and solid piece of furniture made using a combination of solid timber and oak veneers.
The storage comprises of four generously sized drawers (the top one divided lined originally for cutlery) and large cupboard behind modern sliding doors with recessed handles.
The condition of this piece is near pristine with only very minor signs of use as per photos.
Overall a great investment piece and the perfect stage to display all the special mid century treasures.
