Stunning vintage coffee table side table retailed by Heals in the late 1940s/50s. The design is quite unusual and unique reminiscent of the elegant Gio Ponti pieces of the Era. Amazing lacquered inlaid design creating a lively abstract but organic motive composed of various specimen of exotic woods, probably Maple, Mahogany, rosewood, satin wood, teak amongst others. Superb elegant legs finished in ebonized wood with solid brass ends. Some fine age related cracks in the lacquered surface and small blemishes on the edges as per photos, although nothing that can detract from the overall charm of this amazing piece.
